Based in Ellicott City, Maryland, Melissa started painting faces in the Baltimore, D.C., and Northern Virginia areas in 2000 while working for entertainment companies. She started Face Painting by Melissa in 2006. Natural ability and training in the fine arts contributes to her distinctive face and body art designs. She has been taught by world renowned face and body artists and actively participates in face and body art education. Currently employed as a graphic designer in Laurel, Maryland, Melissa carries a bachelors degree in mass communication, with a track in advertising and a minor in art from Towson University.

Melissa loves children and enjoys watching them grow and helping them learn. Patience with children and adults is very important to her. She looks forward to the friendly people, lovely locales, and cultural experiences that often await her at each event, and she cannot wait
